After graduating from college in 1971, Doug Tilley took his first job working with children as a house parent in at the Methodist Home for Children in Raleigh, N.C. There he had charge of 10 boys, ages 8-14, caring for their daily needs. Ever since then working with young children, adolescents and families has been a major focus of his work. Doug also took three years of intensive postgraduate training in child and family therapy at the Family Therapy Institute of Washington, D.C. For 6 years Doug worked with children and their families at the Carroll County Mental Health Clinic Children's Unit. His work as a family therapist is well known in the community.
